This unique piece of hand-blown glass is a study in contrast and fluid form. It balances a slender, ethereal upper body with a budded, sculptural base, creating a silhouette that feels both ancient and contemporary.
The Vessel
The top portion is a deep, smoky amethyst glass with a graceful, flared rim. Its surface is slightly textured with organic ripples and tiny air bubbles — telltale signs of the hand-blowing process. The translucent purple hue shifts in intensity, gathering color where the glass thickens at the base of the cup.
The Base
The foundation is a striking departure from the sleek top. Crafted from cerulean and sea-foam blue glass, the base is thick and weighted, featuring an "applied" technique where molten glass droplets have been fused to the surface. These cobalt and clear protrusions give the Flower buds, resembling also coral or ice.
